Reading –This week we will discuss a nonfiction article which gives information about real people, things, or events. We will also learn about context clues.
Bible – This week we will discuss the different books of the Bible and how God’s word is the lamp to our feet and the light for our path.
Grammar – We will learn irregular verbs such as say, do, go, and see. We also reviewed the five parts to a letter.
Writing Workshop – We will finish our descriptive writing story this week.
Social Studies- We are working on our research project on political leaders/ inventors. The students are doing a great job!
Science – We will start a unit on the human body.
Math – We will finish our chapter on money and learn telling time later this week.
Spelling –Last week we worked with words with the ou and oo in them.
Reminders

- This week is ROAR week. Students are encouraged to bring their re-enrollment papers back to school this week. Also there are fun activities planned every day, so please check the website.

- We will be exchanging Valentines as a class, so please bring in one Valentine for every child in the class. We will not be making Valentine boxes during school so please also send a small box or bag to collect Valentines on Tuesday, February 14th.
- Students have been working very hard on their famous person from the past research project. I am sending home today a paper with more details on this project and the wax museum.
- January Book-it is due this week!
- Parent/Teacher Conferences are scheduled for February 13th and 15th. Unlike the fall conference, this conference is not mandatory for everyone to attend, but please sign up if you have any concerns. If you have questions about whether you need to sign up for a conference, please ask me.
- No school on Friday, February 17thand Monday, February 20th.
- Please check the class website every week for current updates that are going on at school.
