Background Check Policy
Employees of PCA: As per Ohio Revised Code, all faculty and staff will submit and successfully pass an FBI and BCI background check at the time of hire and at least every 5 years hence. Background check results must be received directly from Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and INvestigation. Any fees associated with the maintenance of credentials and background checks are the responsibility of the employee.
Contract Employees: All contract employees are under the oversight of School Administration and must meet all state, local, and federal laws. Contract employees must provide a certificate of liability insurance and provide the school with a current FBI/ BCI background check as is also required for all PCA employees.
Volunteers: Prior to the involvement of any school volunteer, a background information form will be completed by the prospective volunteer and submitted to school administration for background check. Volunteers 18 and older that will be in school on a routine basis working directly with students will need to complete a background check that will consist of a national criminal database search, a national sex offender registry search, and a social trace with the results being valid for a period of four years.
